Fika Architects collaborated with Trek to design a 30,000-square-foot warehouse expansion, seamlessly integrating with the existing high-end industrial architecture. The original building features a facade composed of smooth, split-faced, and striated block, complemented by large glass storefronts on the front office elevation. The expansion was meticulously designed to mimic the existing facade, with a strategic 20-foot setback from the office area to minimize its visual impact from the road.
The expanded space includes two new recessed loading docks and a single-slope roof. The lower band of the expansion continues the block coursing from the existing structure, while the upper portion features insulated metal panels with punched clerestory windows. These windows wrap around the building, allowing an abundance of natural light to flood the warehouse, enhancing the functionality and atmosphere of the space.
